Where to eat in Puerto Ayora?

In our little town there are several options for lunch and dinner. Lets start with my favorite. "Isla Grill Restaurant" is located in the main avenue, Charles Darwin, right in front of Banco del Pacífico. The owner, Fernando Salazar, is a local resident who studied gastronomy in Argentina. He and his family have been living in Puerto Ayora for a very long time which guarantees an excellent service accompained by high sanitation standards and of course, a fresh food offert.

His menu offers options for meat lovers and vegetarians; one of the greatest dishes is the octopus appetizer, this one goes pretty good with a glass of wine or even better with the famous michelada (beer + hot pepper mix). The grill is a very satisfiying experience when you try their steak and pork ribs.  On the other hand, salads are the highlight of this place. Fresh ingredients served with a variety of dressings is always a good option when it comes to healthy eating. Prices are pretty reasonable for the amout and quality of food that you get. The average is around 15 USD per person which can be paid by credit card or cash.

Another great option is right next to Isla Grill. Its called "Pizza Eat". This is propbaly the best place to have pizza in town. You can either take it by slices or as a whole. You can choose among the traditional Margarita, the always fresh vegatarian or cold cuts pizza. For those who aren't crazy about pizzas, there are several options of calzones, spagghetti, lasagna, etc. This place also offers some great brew beers, regular beers and the best Frozen Margaritas in town.  Be sure to get there early so you can find a spot. Credit card and cash are welcomed.

Last but not least, "Il Giardino Restaurant", owned by a local resident, Yandry, who is always around making sure everythig runs smoothly and having satisfied customers. One of my favorite dishes is prawns in garlic dressing, which goes fantastic with some white or rose wine. Desserts in this place are a great deal for those who have a sweet teeth. May I reccomend the blackberry ice-cream, you won't regret it.
